At Hevasure, we are proud to have pioneered real-time monitoring technology, bringing commercial (closed) heating and chilled water system under much better control. When Hevasure systems are installed, site managers and building owners can relax knowing that their systems are properly monitored and protected.
Our journey from concept to becoming the UK’s leading name in closed systems monitoring has been marked by innovation, collaboration, and a relentless commitment to excellence. Here’s how it all unfolded
2011
While working at Midland Corrosion Services, brothers Phil and Steve Munn recognised a critical industry gap: traditional water sampling methods weren’t effectively preventing corrosion in closed-loop LTHW and CHW systems. Determined to change this, they embarked on developing a real-time monitoring solution to tackle the issue head-on.
2013
After two years of research and development, the first field trials were successfully conducted—one at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, and another on a district heating system in the Netherlands. These trials validated the concept and laid the foundation for a commercial product.
2014
The first commercial monitoring system—the CIA 8—was officially launched at the Maintec Exhibition at NEC Birmingham.
Later that year, Hevasure Ltd was established, securing investment that allowed us to focus exclusively on designing and delivering cutting-edge HVAC monitoring solutions.
2015
Momentum built quickly, with early installations at prestigious institutions such as the Francis Crick Institute and the Wellcome Trust. Hevasure’s real-time monitoring was gaining attention—and trust—across the industry.
2016
We introduced the G2 model, integrating a wider range of both digital (Modbus) and analogue sensors, offering even more comprehensive system monitoring.
2017
The G2.5 model was launched, now featuring a built-in local screen for enhanced on-site usability.
We also signed our first commercial partnership agreement with Guardian Water Treatment, extending our reach and support capabilities.
2018–2019
Adoption of Hevasure systems grew rapidly, with successful implementations in commercial office buildings, hospitals, data centres, government facilities, and heat networks.
In 2019, we were honoured to win Ancillary Product of the Year at the HVR Awards.
2020
A wall-mounted enclosure version of the G2.5 was released, offering more flexible installation options.
We were proud to win Small Company Achievement of the Year at the H&V News Awards.
2021
The launch of the Aquila range marked another major milestone, giving customers three connectivity options:
- Cloud-based data storage and remote dashboard (Aquila-2c)
- BACnet BMS integration for secure environments (Aquila-2s)
- Or both (Aquila-2+)
2022
We signed a strategic partnership with Rock Compliance, expanding our service offering and support network.
Development began on Condor, our corrosion monitoring solution aimed at secondary systems or smaller buildings.
2023
We acquired full rights to our real-time monitoring software and brought development in-house. With a highly skilled internal team, we developed and launched the Aquila-2 range—delivering even greater performance and reliability.
2024
The remote dashboard was upgraded, improving diagnostics and enhancing the overall customer experience.
Simultaneously, Aquila-2 was redesigned to improve resilience to extreme pressure and temperature fluctuations.
2025
Trials for Condor start, as we prepare to bring this game-changing product to market.
We remain focused on pushing boundaries and setting new standards in system monitoring and corrosion prevention, with some exciting developments underway.
Looking Ahead
From a simple idea in 2011 to an industry-leading position today, our mission remains the same: to provide intelligent, real-time solutions that protect closed-loop water systems and the assets they support.
The future is bright—and we’re just getting started.
